McGrath, Wolvaardt and Beaumont keep Brisbane Heat winless

Tahlia McGrath led Adelaide Strikers with a three-wicket haul as the bowling attack restricted Brisbane Heat to 149/9. A 99-run opening stand between Laura Wolvaardt and Tammy Beaumont set up the chase. Despite the Heat taking four wickets and pushing the game to the final overs, they remain winless this season. McGrath finished unbeaten on 24 in the six-wicket victory. This marks the Heat's seventh loss in eight games.

After being asked to bat first, Heat lost Grace Harris and Lauren Winfield-Hill early, struggling to 28/2 in the PowerPlay. They reached 56/3 at the halfway stage but lost wickets regularly. Nadine de Klerk (25 off 13) and Nicola Hancock (22 off 8) helped Heat add 48 in the last five overs. However, the opening partnership dashed any hopes of a revival, and McGrath and Ellie Johnston completed the chase with two balls to spare.

Brief Scores:
Brisbane Heat 149/9 in 20 overs (Charli Knott 27; Tahlia McGrath 3-27, Ellie Johnston 2-24, Amanda-Jade Wellington 2-34) lost to Adelaide Strikers 151/4 in 19.4 overs (Tammy Beaumont 64, Laura Wolvaardt 49; Grace Harris 2-28) by 6 wickets
