India sanctioned for slow overrate in Raipur ODI

India's players have been fined 10 percent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate during the second ODI against South Africa in Raipur on December 3.

India were found to be two overs short of their target after time allowances were considered. The sanction was imposed by match referee Richie Richardson.

Under the ICC Code of Conduct, players are fined five percent of their match fee for each over their side fails to bowl within the stipulated time. India captain KL Rahul pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the sanction, so no formal hearing was required.

The charge was brought by on-field umpires Rod Tucker and Rohan Pandit, third umpire Sam Nogajski, and fourth umpire Jayaraman Madanagopal.
