BCCI to review domestic pay structure for women cricketers in Dec 22 meet

Revision of payouts for women cricketers will be taken up at the Apex Council meeting on December 22. It is understood that the BCCI is planning to revise match fees for women cricketers in domestic tournaments.

After the women's team's splendid ODI World Cup win, a revision was expected, and the BCCI has decided to address it at the meeting, which will be held virtually. While there is pay parity between men and women at the international level, disparities continue in domestic competitions.

Another key item on the agenda is the central contracts for the men's team. How Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be graded is of particular interest, with both star players retiring from two of the three international formats.

The BCCI also intends to revise match fees for umpires, with a decision expected on that front as well at the 7 pm meeting on December 22.

Agenda Items:

  • Confirmation of Minutes of the 30th Apex Council Meeting.
  • Revision in payments for women cricketers in domestic cricket.
  • Update on BCCI Digital Properties.
  • Revision in umpire and match referee payments.
  • Annual Player Retainership Contracts.
  • Any other business the Chairperson may consider necessary to include in the agenda.
