SMAT 2025: ACA suspends four players for alleged corruption

The Assam Cricket Association has suspended four players for their alleged involvement in corruption during the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament.

The four players—Amit Sinha, Ishan Ahmed, Aman Tripathi, and Abhishek Thakuri—have been suspended with immediate effect. According to an ACA press release, they are accused of "influencing and attempting to instigate some of the current Assam team players" during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025, held in Lucknow from November 26 to December 8.

An FIR has been filed at the crime branch in Guwahati. The players are barred from participating in any state-level tournaments organized by the ACA, its district units, or affiliated clubs. The suspension will remain in effect until the investigation concludes.
