IPL 2026 Auction: How the teams fared – Part II

Kolkata Knight Riders
Full Squad: Ajinkya Rahane, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Anukul Roy, Cameron Green (INR 25.20 Cr), Finn Allen (INR 2 Cr), Harshit Rana, Kartik Tyagi (INR 30 lakh), Manish Pandey, Matheesha Pathirana (INR 18 Cr), Mustafizur Rahman (INR 9.20 Cr), Prashant Solanki (INR 30 lakh), Rachin Ravindra (INR 2 Cr), Rahul Tripathi (INR 75 lakh), Ramandeep Singh, Rinku Singh, Rovman Powell, Sarthak Ranjan (INR 30 lakh), Sunil Narine, Tejasvi Singh (INR 3 Cr), Tim Seifert (INR 1.50 Cr), Umran Malik, Vaibhav Arora, Varun Chakaravarthy, Akash Deep (INR 1 Cr), Daksh Kamra (INR 30 lakh).

Auction Strategy: With the largest purse and the absence of Andre Russell, KKR aggressively secured Cameron Green with a record bid for an overseas player. They addressed their pace attack by acquiring Matheesha Pathirana and Mustafizur Rahman. Following the release of all wicketkeepers, they added Finn Allen and Tim Seifert, providing opening options. Batting reinforcements came in the form of Rahul Tripathi and Rachin Ravindra, while Indian pacers Akash Deep and Kartik Tyagi, along with spin all-rounders, completed the 25-player squad.

Rajasthan Royals
Full Squad: Adam Milne (INR 2.40 cr), Aman Rao (INR 30 lakh), Brijesh Sharma (INR 30 lakh), Dhruv Jurel, Donovan Ferreira, Jofra Archer, Kuldeep Sen (INR 75 lakh), Kwena Maphaka, Lhuan-Dre Pretorious, Nandre Burger, Prithvi Raj, Ravi Bishnoi (INR 7.20 cr), Ravi Singh (INR 95 lakh), Ravindra Jadeja, Riyan Parag, Sam Curran, Sandeep Sharma, Shimron Hetmyer, Shubham Dubey, Sushant Mishra (INR 90 lakh), Tushar Deshpande, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Vignesh Puthur (INR 30 lakh), Yash Raj Punja (INR 30 lakh), Yashaswi Jaiswal, Yudhvir Charak.

Auction Strategy: With seven overseas slots filled pre-auction, the Royals focused on securing domestic backups. Their key acquisition was spinner Ravi Bishnoi. After being outbid for a primary wicketkeeper backup, they settled for Ravi Singh. They secured fast bowler Sushant Mishra after missing out on other targets and added overseas pacer Adam Milne. Several players, including opener Aman Rao, were bought at their base price to round out the squad.

Delhi Capitals
Full Squad: Abishek Porel, Ajay Mandal, Ashutosh Sharma, Auqib Nabi Dar (INR 8.4 crore), Axar Patel (c), Ben Duckett (INR 2 crore), David Miller (INR 2 crore), Dushmantha Chameera, Karun Nair/Sameer Rizvi, KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav, Kyle Jamieson (INR 2 crore), Lungi Ngidi (INR 2 crore), Madhav Tiwari, Mitchell Starc, Mukesh Kumar, Nitish Rana, Pathum Nissanka (INR 4 crore), Prithvi Shaw (INR 75 lakh), Sahil Parakh (INR 30 lakh), T. Natarajan, Tristan Stubbs, Tripurna Vijay, Vipraj Nigam.

Auction Strategy: With a settled core, DC aimed to address specific gaps. They bolstered their opening combination by signing Pathum Nissanka and Prithvi Shaw. After losing bids for Matheesha Pathirana and Mustafizur Rahman, they secured pacers Lungi Ngidi and Kyle Jamieson at base price. David Miller was a value addition to the middle order. Their most expensive buy was uncapped J&K pace-bowling all-rounder Auqib Nabi Dar, seen as a PowerPlay asset.

Sunrisers Hyderabad
Full Squad: Abhishek Sharma, Amit Kumar (INR 30 lakh), Aniket Verma, Brydon Carse, Eshan Malinga, Harsh Dubey, Harshal Patel, Heinrich Klaasen, Ishan Kishan, Jack Edwards (INR 3 Cr), Jaydev Unadkat, Kamindu Mendis, Krains Fuletra (INR 30 lakh), Liam Livingstone (INR 13 Cr), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Onkar Tarmale (INR 30 lakh), Pat Cummins, Praful Hinge (INR 30 lakh), Sakib Hussain (INR 30 lakh), Salil Arora (INR 1.50 Cr), Shivam Mavi (INR 75 lakh), Shivang Kumar (INR 30 lakh), Smaran Ravichandaran, Travis Head, Zeeshan Ansari.

Auction Strategy: SRH missed out on key targets, including pace-bowling all-rounder Auqib Nabi and two expensive uncapped players. They subsequently stocked up on domestic pacers like Shivam Mavi. They invested in Salil Arora, a high-strike-rate batter, and splurged on Liam Livingstone for top-order power and spin option. Left-arm leg-spinner Krains Fuletra, a former net bowler, was also added.

Mumbai Indians
Full Squad: AM Ghazanfar, Ashwani Kumar, Atharva Ankolekar (INR 30 lakh), Corbin Bosch, Danish Malewar (INR 30 lakh), Deepak Chahar, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Mayank Markande (traded), Mayank Rawat (INR 30 lakh), Mitchell Santner, Mohammad Izhar (INR 30 lakh), Naman Dhir, Quinton de Kock (INR 1 Cr), Raghu Sharma, Raj Angad Bawa, Robin Minz, Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton, Shardul Thakur (traded), Sherfane Rutherford (traded), Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma, Trent Boult, Will Jacks.

Auction Strategy: Operating with a limited purse, MI's major move was acquiring Quinton de Kock at his base price as a top-order alternative to Ryan Rickelton. The rest of their auction was focused on adding uncapped Indian depth: spinner Atharva Ankolekar, off-spin all-rounder Mayank Rawat, and left-arm pacer Mohammad Izhar, all at base price.
