Miller injury adds to South Africa's growing T20 World Cup worries
David Miller faces a race against time to be fit for the upcoming T20 World Cup after suffering a suspected groin injury. He sustained it while fielding in a Paarl Royals SA20 match against the Joburg Super Kings on Monday. He left the field in the 16th over and did not bat in the chase.
The full nature and extent of Miller's injury is not yet known. After the game, Miller said, "I don't know, we'll see tomorrow when I pick up. Obviously not ideal."
Miller is now the third member of South Africa's T20 World Cup squad to suffer an injury ahead of the tournament. Donovan Ferreira was previously ruled out with a fractured shoulder, and Tony de Zorzi is recovering from a hamstring injury.
