Lizelle Lee fined, handed demerit point for Code of Conduct breach

Lizelle Lee has been fined 10 percent of her match fee and handed one demerit point for breaching the Women's Premier League Code of Conduct during Delhi Capitals' match against Mumbai Indians.

The incident occurred in the 11th over of the Capitals' innings, when Lee was given out stumped off Amanjot Kaur after a lengthy on-field deliberation. The delivery, bowled down the leg side, saw Lee overbalance while attempting a flick, with wicketkeeper Rahila Firdous effecting the stumping. After consulting multiple angles, the third umpire ruled that Lee's bat was in the air when the bails were dislodged.

Lee, who had been batting fluently on 46 off 28 balls, expressed her displeasure as she walked off and continued to remonstrate following the decision. She admitted to a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the Code of Conduct, which relates to the abuse of cricket equipment during the match.

For Level 1 breaches, the Match Referee's decision is final and binding.
