Though we win or lose, we never stop smiling – Shreyanka Patil

Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the Women's Premier League 2026 title, their second trophy in three seasons. After a week's break having directly qualified for the final, RCB chased down 204 to defeat Delhi Capitals by six wickets with two balls to spare, led by captain Smriti Mandhana's 41-ball 87 and Georgia Voll's 79 off 54.

Player Reactions:

Georgia Voll (Player of the Match):
"It was about taking it as deep as we could. We knew it was a really good batting wicket. We had great finishers. It was disappointing not to finish it together, but full credit to the girls. (On the break in Goa) Couple of soda waters! It was nice to have a bit of a break, head to the beach. The girls were really focused coming into tonight.
(On her innings) Obviously pretty high up there. To come out and perform in the final was super special. (Batting with Smriti Mandhana) It's awesome watching her go about it. One of the cleanest hitters I've ever seen. To share the wicket with her was super special."

Smriti Mandhana (RCB Captain):
"Everyone is very happy. This team has done a lot of hard work. Our management has given us everything, more than we asked for, so this win is more for them.
We practised situational cricket a lot. Our management helped us a lot on how to do better with the skills you have.
(Reflecting on her performance) It's pretty good, but I can do better. Hopefully in the future, with more hard work, there will be a bigger match. The management told us to stay away from cricket to come back fresh, and it did a lot of good. First WPL trophy for me; the World Cup is at the top, so this will go second."

Sophie Molineux:
"What a game of cricket! 200 plays 200. Their opening partnership came at us, but once we got them two down we thought we were back. Jemimah Rodrigues and Laura Wolvaardt batted really well, but we back our batting lineup.
(On the innings break) I don't get involved in the batting chats. I sat with Anya Shrubsole; we were pretty calm. We looked up and thought, 'we're getting alright here.' Georgia and Smriti were outstanding and set the chase up. I don't think I've ever been part of a game so close. The fans were amazing.
(The fans) have been amazing this whole tournament. Every game we've had loads of support and noise. I've absolutely loved the WPL. The whole month's been so good."

Kate Cross:
"I just said to the girls sometimes you only get this opportunity once. I quoted Roger Federer—he only won 54 per cent of his points—so I said, 'you only have to win 54 per cent to win, so let's give it a good crack.' I tried to bring a bit of energy. It's not every day you play in a WPL final. The crowd, there's a lot of red.
(On a catch) That was the easiest part of my night. I back myself to take them. We've played really good, consistent cricket with different individuals standing up. Really happy for the girls."

Ellyse Perry:
"When there were 13 runs to get I may have jinxed Smriti a little bit—she was on 87. Two fantastic knocks. You get good value for your shots if you play straighter. The girls were fantastic.
Malo bhai (head coach Malolan Rangarajan) is so calm and in control. He allows players to get what they need. RX (batting coach) is very good technically. Our support staff know their roles, which allows you as a player to understand your role and give your best shot. The environment they've created helps you show off your skills."

Shreyanka Patil:
"It's very special for me because it's my comeback WPL season. Lovely crowd here; they supported throughout no matter what. They had faith and belief in us. I thank each and every member in Baroda and people watching in Bangalore and Karnataka.
Honestly, after the first innings, me and Aru (Arundhati Reddy) were walking and we thought we were going to pull this off. We had a very positive environment in the dugout—everyone laughing, having fun, cheering. Though we win or lose, we never stop smiling. That's what has brought us here.
After the second timeout, we thought restricting them to 180-185 would be good. They got about 20 runs extra, but the way Smriti and Voll played made it look easier. Every player felt they were a leader. Every day we had a different Player of the Match, a different match-winner. It was a brilliant team effort.
I'm still in shock. On the last ball, the bails fell and the ball went for a boundary. I asked Malo, 'what is it?' He said, 'We won!' A very special feeling. I'd love to dedicate this win to Smriti, Malo, and Anya Shrubsole—today is Anya's son's first birthday."
