RR likely to remain in Jaipur, subject to conditions
Rajasthan Royals may return to Jaipur for their home matches, though no official confirmation has been made. The franchise has Pune as a fallback option.
The Rajasthan government has intervened, preferring the team stay in the state. The BCCI has advised the Royals’ management to explore staying in Jaipur.
The primary concern is the readiness of Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Facilities and amenities are reportedly not fully in order, and RR wants them upgraded before the IPL season begins on March 26.
If RR stays in Jaipur, four of their seven home matches would be played there, with the other three in Guwahati as previously planned. The Royals have also held discussions with the Maharashtra Cricket Association about playing in Pune.
Separately, Mumbai Indians have denied turning down Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s inquiry about using the DY Patil Stadium as an alternative venue. MI suggested RCB first explore other cities like Pune, Indore, Raipur, Visakhapatnam, Cuttack, or Thiruvananthapuram.
With uncertainty over Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB had approached MI about using DY Patil Stadium temporarily. RCB has also made arrangements to host some matches in Raipur.
MI gave a similar response to Rajasthan Royals, who had initially considered moving to Mumbai and using the DY Patil Stadium.
The BCCI has not released the IPL schedule yet; it is expected after the announcement of State Assembly election dates in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, and West Bengal.
