Vishmi Gunaratne, spinners star as Sri Lanka claim series 2-0

Sri Lanka Women took a 2-0 series lead with a tight 14-run victory over West Indies in the second ODI on Sunday.

The match followed a similar script to the first: West Indies chasing a sub-250 total, a fighting fifty from Jannillea Glasgow at No. 7, and a narrow win for Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka, after being 166-4 in the 36th over, were bowled out for 208. Vishmi Gunaratne anchored the innings with a fighting 58.

In response, West Indies again lost their top five inside 100 runs. The innings featured a controversial dismissal of Deandra Dottin, given out for obstructing the field in the 30th over.

Jannillea Glasgow's defiant 50 kept West Indies in the hunt, but she was dismissed off the final ball of the 48th over, slapping a catch to cover.

Spinners Sugandika Kumari (3-38) and Inoka Ranaweera (3-44) shared six wickets, securing the series win for Sri Lanka.

Brief scores:
Sri Lanka 208 all out in 47.1 overs (Vishmi Gunaratne 58; Karishma Ramharack 3-26) beat West Indies 194 in 48 overs (Jannillea Glasgow 50; Sugandika Kumari 3-38, Inoka Ranaweera 3-44) by 14 runs.
