Darwin, Mackay to host Bangladesh Test series

Cricket Australia has announced the fixtures for the home Test series against Bangladesh in August 2026. This two-Test series will be Bangladesh's first Test series in Australia since 2003.

The matches will be held at Marrara Stadium in Darwin and the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay, departing from Australia's traditional Test venues.

Darwin last hosted a Test in 2004, featuring Sri Lanka. Its inaugural Test in 2003 also involved Bangladesh.

The Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay will host its first-ever Test match.

Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg stated: "We're delighted to bring Test cricket to northern Australia and look forward to a fantastic series against Bangladesh. The international calendar is crowded, and we're fortunate to have world-class facilities available in August, providing another window for Test cricket outside summer."

This will be the fourth Test series between Australia and Bangladesh. Australia has won five of their six previous Tests, with Bangladesh's sole victory occurring in Mirpur in 2017.

Australia v Bangladesh: 2026 Test Schedule

First Test: August 13–17, Marrara Stadium, Darwin
Second Test: August 22–26, Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay
