Jamie Siddons appointed head coach of Sri Lanka Women

Sri Lanka Cricket has appointed former Australian cricketer Jamie Siddons as head coach of the national women's team. His one-year term begins on March 16, 2026.

Siddons replaces Rumesh Ratnayake, who had been in charge since February 2023. Under Ratnayake, the Chamari Athapaththu-led side won their maiden Asia Cup T20 in 2024, beating favourites India.

Siddons previously served as head coach of the Bangladesh men's team from 2007 to 2011. He has also been head coach of South Australia (2015–2020) and the Wellington Firebirds in New Zealand (2011–2015).

In his first-class career, Siddons played 160 matches, captaining both South Australia and Victoria. He also played 70 List A games and one ODI for Australia.

The 61-year-old will guide Sri Lanka's women's team in preparation for the Women's T20 World Cup 2026 in England. His first assignment will be Sri Lanka's tour of Bangladesh in April–May 2026.
