Committee formed to investigate 2025 BCB elections

The National Sports Council has formed a five-member independent probe committee to investigate allegations of widespread irregularities in the Bangladesh Cricket Board's 2025 election.

The NSC announced the decision days after Tamim Iqbal led a request for an investigation, claiming that 50 out of 76 clubs in the capital supported the call for a probe.

Divisional councillors and former cricket organizers also raised concerns over alleged irregularities in councillor nominations, the formation of ad-hoc committees, and the alleged misuse of authority by officials involved in the election process, submitting a letter to the NSC.

The committee has been asked to submit its report to the State Minister for Youth and Sports within 15 working days.
