Ireland to host New Zealand in historic Test in May

Ireland is set for a momentous home summer, headlined by hosting its maiden Test match against New Zealand in May.

This announcement follows confirmation of a two-match T20I series against world champions India in June. Later in the summer, Ireland will host Afghanistan for a five-match ODI series in August, with all games at Stormont in Belfast.

Subsequently, the men's team will tour Nepal for a white-ball series, followed by a warm-weather training camp and a white-ball series against the UAE in the UAE. Players will also participate in the ILT20 as part of a five-year agreement with the Emirates Cricket Board.

Further ahead, a historic first tour of Pakistan is planned, potentially as a multi-format series involving a third team. Ireland will also return to the UAE to face Afghanistan in a multi-format series. Schedules for these tours are to be announced.

The Irish women's team also has a busy schedule. They will host West Indies for three ODIs in July as part of the ICC Women's Championship and travel to England for a three-match ODI series in September. Future series include hosting India, New Zealand, and Pakistan, and touring Australia, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka. The tour of Zimbabwe is scheduled for early 2027.

Additionally, Ireland will host Pakistan and West Indies in a women's T20I tri-series in late May as a prelude to the T20 World Cup.

In a significant move, Cricket Ireland has formally invited the exiled Afghanistan women's team to tour during the summer. An agreement has also been made with the Cricket Association of Nepal for the Irish men's team to play an annual white-ball series in Nepal.
