Voll's maiden T20I ton powers Australia's 3-0 finish against WI
Australia completed a 3-0 sweep of the Women's T20I series, beating West Indies by 40 runs via the DLS method.
Rain cut short West Indies' chase of 212, leaving them at 61/3 in 10 overs. With persistent showers in Kingstown, the result was determined by DLS.
Australia's innings was headlined by Georgia Voll's maiden T20I century, scored off 52 balls. She hit nine fours and six sixes, reaching her century in the 17th over before being dismissed by Hayley Matthews two balls later. Voll joined Meg Lanning, Beth Mooney, and Alyssa Healy as an Australian Women's T20I centurion.
It was largely a solo effort from Voll, with none of the other top-five batters crossing 20. Australia surpassed 200 thanks partly to captain Sophie Molineux, who took 15 runs off the 19th over and hit a six in the final over. This propelled Australia to their fifth-highest Women's T20I total ever.
West Indies' chase began poorly, with Qiana Joseph bowled by Megan Schutt off the second ball. Ebony Brathwaite and Matthews struggled in the Powerplay before Brathwaite hit a six off Schutt. Soon after, Lucy Hamilton dismissed Brathwaite with a slower ball, leaving West Indies at 33/3 after six overs.
Matthews and Deandra Dottin each hit a six off Alana King, the Player of the Series, but rain intervened shortly after, ending the match.
Brief scores:
Australia Women 211/7 in 20 overs (Georgia Voll 101, Sophie Molineux 25; Hayley Matthews 3-29) beat West Indies Women 61/3 in 10 overs (Hayley Matthews 30*, Eboni Brathwaite 18) by 40 runs (DLS method).
