Rain washes out Islamabad-Peshawar clash

Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi shared points after their PSL 2026 match was abandoned without a ball bowled due to a wet outfield at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Persistent rain around toss time prevented play from starting. Although showers eased around 7:30 PM local time, significant puddles left groundstaff racing against time. Conditions could not be made fit before the cut-off for even a five-over contest.

The washout meant Islamabad opened their account and moved to sixth on the table, while Peshawar climbed to second with three points, just behind leaders Karachi Kings who have four.

Both sides entered level on 13 wins each, adding intrigue to the fixture, but the contest ultimately fell victim to the weather.
