Bangladesh advance match timings to save energy

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has changed the match timings for upcoming international series to support a government energy-saving initiative.

This affects the men's white-ball series against New Zealand and the women's T20I series against Sri Lanka.

Revised Men's Series Timings (vs New Zealand):

  • ODIs: Start time moved forward by three hours. Matches will now begin at 11:00 AM, aiming to conclude by sunset (~6:30 PM).
  • T20Is: Start time moved to 2:00 PM, aiming to finish by 5:30 PM.

Revised Women's Series Timings (vs Sri Lanka):

  • T20Is: Start time changed from 6:00 PM to 1:30 PM.

Match Schedule:

New Zealand Tour of Bangladesh:

  • ODIs:
    • 1st & 2nd ODI: April 17 & 20, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka.
    • 3rd ODI: April 23, Bir Shreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium, Chattogram.
  • T20Is:
    • 1st & 2nd T20I: April 27 & 29, Chattogram.
    • 3rd T20I: May 2, Dhaka.

Sri Lanka Women's Tour of Bangladesh:

  • T20Is: April 28, 30, and May 2 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
