Bumrah's five-fer sees England bowled out for 387
Jasprit Bumrah took his 13th five-fer in away Tests, the most by an Indian bowler. Fifties from Brydon Carse and Jamie Smith helped England reach 387 in their first innings at Lord's on Day 2.
Jofra Archer, returning to Test cricket after four years, dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal in his first over. KL Rahul and Karun Nair took India to Tea at 44 for 1.
Mohammed Siraj ended the 84-run partnership between Smith and Carse. Carse hit a couple of boundaries off Bumrah before Bumrah took his fifth wicket, castling Archer. This was Bumrah's first five-fer at Lord's. Carse was dropped twice in an over, but he brought up his 50 with a six.
Siraj bowled Carse to end the innings at 387.
In reply, Chris Woakes bowled some loose deliveries, allowing Jaiswal to hit three boundaries. Archer dismissed Jaiswal in his first over.
Nair faced a tough spell from Archer, surviving some snorters. Woakes bowled poorly in his first spell, conceding 23 runs in four overs. Rahul looked comfortable, taking singles and keeping the scoreboard moving.
Earlier, England fought back after being close to being bowled out for less than 300 in the first session. Joe Root scored his eighth century at Lord's. Bumrah took the wickets of Ben Stokes, Root, and Woakes in two overs. Smith was dropped by Rahul, and he made the most of his reprieve.
Smith and Carse batted fluently, barely offering a chance to India. Smith brought up his 50 with a single before Lunch.
