WI bowlers make merry under lights on Day 1 at Sabina Park
West Indies bowlers bundled out Australia for 225 on Day 1 of the first-ever day-night, pink-ball Test at Sabina Park.
Australia started solidly after winning the toss, with Cameron Green and Steve Smith putting on a good stand. However, in the flood-lit session, they lost seven wickets for just 87 runs in 18.3 overs.
Shamar Joseph, Jayden Seales and Justin Greaves shared the spoils, picking up a wicket each in the last session. West Indies lost debutant opener Kevlon Anderson to Mitchell Starc but Brandon King and Roston Chase negotiated the remaining overs to finish on 19/1.
Sam Konstas couldn't sustain a strong start and was dismissed by Seales for 17 in the morning session. Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green took Australia to 50/1 at Lunch.
Early in the second session, Shai Hope took a stunning one-handed diving catch to dismiss Khawaja for 23. Smith and Green then added 61 runs before Seales dismissed Green just before the break.
Australia lost wickets quickly under lights, with some dismissals due to questionable shot selection. Smith was caught behind, Beau Webster edged to Hope, and Travis Head was caught by Anderson Phillip after a mistimed shot. Alex Carey was dismissed for 21, and Seales cleaned up Mitchell Starc for a duck in his 100th Test. He followed that up by dismissing Pat Cummins. Shamar Joseph wrapped up the innings by dismissing Josh Hazlewood.
West Indies had a tricky task of seeing out the remaining overs with the bat. King and Kevlon saw off the first four overs before Starc dismissed the latter. Chase played out 14 balls for his three and King stood firm to take West Indies to 16/1 at stumps.

West Indies 16/1 trail Australia 225 (Steve Smith 48, Cameron Green 46; Shamar Joseph 4-33, Justin Greaves 3-56, Jayden Seales 3-59) by 209 runs
