Brook's century leaves India staring at familiar fate

Harry Brook smashed a 91-ball century, putting England firmly in control. England need just 57 runs for a 3-1 series win. Brook's 195-run partnership with Joe Root left India searching for answers in a 153-run session.

Brook's century, the 10th of his career and the fastest ever fourth-innings hundred against India, came in a bowler-friendly session. His knock featured 14 fours and 2 sixes. Earlier, he was dropped by Mohammed Siraj off Prasidh Krishna.

Brook went after Krishna again in the same over, adding two more boundaries. Unlike at Lord's, he showed better judgement and managed to score at over run-a-ball.

His innings ended on 111 when he charged down the track against Akash Deep and sliced the ball to Siraj.

Siraj was India's best bowler, taking 2 wickets for 91 runs. He troubled Duckett repeatedly and trapped Pope lbw.

Akash Deep struggled with the old ball, but dismissed Brook. He also had a chance to dismiss Jacob Bethell, but his spikes got stuck in the pitch.

Root, unbeaten on 98 at Tea, remains central to England's record chase.
