Headingley – Donovan Ferreira's late 15-ball 41 couldn't save Oval Invincibles from a 16-run defeat against Northern Superchargers in a high-scoring clash at Headingley on Saturday.

Superchargers made a strong start with Zak Crawley and Dawid Malan putting on a 76-run opening stand. Crawley and Malan took apart the Invincibles attack, with Crawley hitting three consecutive boundaries off Sam Curran. Harry Brook continued the momentum, smashing Gus Atkinson for two sixes and a boundary. He scored a 27-ball 56 before being dismissed. David Miller then finished with an unbeaten 16-ball 37, hitting three sixes off Tom Curran.

Invincibles also started well, with Will Jacks hitting three boundaries and a six. However, Tawanda Muwyeye struggled to keep up the pace. Jordan Cox and Curran tried to recover, but a flurry of dismissals and Sam Billings' slow start left them at 115/4.

Ferreira then came in and hit three boundaries and a six off Samit Patel, followed by taking down Jacob Duffy. Despite his efforts, Invincibles fell short, losing their second match of the season.
