
Nabi's all-round show helps North Zone take control on Day 2
Auqib Nabi's all-round performance put North Zone in a commanding position against East Zone on Day 2 of the Duleep Trophy in Bengaluru. North Zone scored 405 despite Manishi's 6 for 111. Nabi (5-28) and Harshit Rana (2-56) then restricted East Zone to 230, giving North Zone a lead of 175 runs.
Starting the day at 308/6, North Zone lost Mayank Dagar early but Nabi led a strong counter-attack, scoring 44 off 33 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Arshdeep Singh and Rana also contributed with sixes, helping North Zone reach 405.
In reply, East Zone batters got off to good starts but only Virat Singh (69) reached fifty. Rana and Nabi took regular wickets. Nabi dismissed Virat early and then cleaned up the tail, taking four wickets in four balls. East Zone lost their last five wickets for just 8 runs.

Danish Malewar's double ton puts Central Zone in command
Danish Malewar's maiden first-class double century, Yash Rathod's 87 and a strong bowling performance led by Aditya Thakare and Harsh Dubey helped Central Zone dominate North East Zone on Day 2. Central Zone scored 532/4 declared before reducing North East Zone to 168/7 by stumps.
Central Zone began the day at 432/2, with Malewar on 198. He went on to score a double century before retiring out. Rathod then scored a quick 87 not out, including 11 fours, and put on a good partnership with Shubham Sharma (32) to take the team past 500 before declaring.
Karnajit Yumnam's 48 led North East Zone's reply, but they lost wickets regularly after a 72-run opening stand and now face a tough challenge heading into Day 3.
