Mahidul Islam Ankon Replaces Jaker Ali in Chittagong Test

Mahidul Islam Ankon has been called up to replace Jaker Ali in the Bangladesh squad for the second Test against South Africa.

Reasons for Replacement

Jaker Ali suffered a concussion during practice on October 27 and remains symptomatic. Due to a history of concussions and the time required for recovery, he has been ruled out of the match.

Introduction of New Player

Mahidul Islam Ankon, a 25-year-old middle order batsman from Dhaka Division, takes Ali's place. Ankon has a strong first-class record with 1934 runs in 43 matches. Recently, he scored 118 against Sylhet Division in his only innings in the current National Cricket League.

Upcoming Match

The second Test is scheduled to begin at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on October 29. Bangladesh trails the series 1-0.
