Gerald Coetzee Receives Demerit Point for Dissent

South Africa fast bowler Gerald Coetzee was handed one demerit point for dissented behavior during the Johannesburg T20I against India. After a delivery was called a 'wide', Coetzee made an inappropriate comment towards the umpire, violating Article 2.8 of the ICC Code.

Scott Edwards and Sufyan Mehmood Also Face Sanctions

  • Scott Edwards: Netherlands captain Scott Edwards was fined 10% of his match fee and received two demerit points. He committed two separate breaches:
    • Showing dissent by gesturing with his bat after being given out LBW, violating Article 2.8.
    • Throwing his bat and gloves onto the field in frustration, violating Article 2.2.
  • Sufyan Mehmood: Oman's Sufyan Mehmood was fined 10% of his match fee and received one demerit point for pointing the batter towards the dressing room in a provocative manner.
