IPL Mega Auction 2025: Key Details

Auction Timing

The IPL mega-auction 2025 will take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The auction will start at 1 PM local time (3:30 PM IST) and will go on till 8 PM local time.

Marquee Players

There are two marquee lists with six players each. M1 includes Pant, Iyer, Jos Buttler, Arshdeep Singh, Kagiso Rabada, and Mitchell Starc. M2 has KL Rahul, Yuzvendra Chahal, Liam Livingstone, David Miller, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj.

Reserve Prices

A total of 577 players are in the auction list, with 367 Indian and 210 overseas. The reserve prices are as follows:

Auction Order

The auction will start with the two marquee sets, followed by capped players and uncapped players. The accelerated auction will begin from the 117th player onwards.

Accelerated Auction

The accelerated auction process will cover players from 117 to 574. Franchises will have to nominate a set number of players from this group by 10 PM IST on the first evening of the two-day process.

Interesting Ins and Outs

  • James Anderson, who hasn't played T20 cricket since 2014, is in the mix.
  • Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 13-year-old who made his Ranji Trophy debut for Bihar in January this year, is also in the auction.
  • Cameron Green, an Australia all-rounder, will miss the auction due to a lower spine surgery.

Right-To-Match (RTM) Rule

The RTM card is back, allowing teams to exercise the right to match a player from their previous season squad. However, there's a twist: teams will have another shot at picking the player by raising the bid one last time without any limit.
