West Indies finished Day 1 at 250/5, taking a slight edge against Bangladesh in the Test match. Mikyle Louis (97) and Alick Athanaze (90) were the top scorers, but both missed out on their centuries.

Bangladesh opted to bowl first, and Taskin Ahmed took two early wickets, dismissing Kraigg Braithwaite (LBW) and Keacy Carty (caught at mid-on). The hosts were in trouble at 25/2, but Mikyle Louis and Kavem Hodge stabilized the innings with a 59-run partnership.

Run scoring was difficult initially, with the first boundary coming in the ninth over of the post-lunch session. However, Athanaze and Louis accelerated the scoring rate in the final session, scoring 59 runs in the first 10 overs after Tea. Louis was dropped at slip on 97 but was caught at slip in the next over. Athanaze followed soon after, caught behind by Litton off Taijul Islam.

Joshua da Silva hit two boundaries off Hasan Miraz before play was stopped due to bad light.

Brief Scores:

  • West Indies: 250/5 (Mikyle Louis 97, Alick Athanaze 90; Taskin Ahmed 2-46, Mehidy Hasan Miraz 1-47)
  • Bangladesh: Yet to bat.
