Veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is not included in the Bangladesh squad for the upcoming ODI series against West Indies. He is currently playing in the Abu Dhabi T10 League for the Bangla Tigers and has made himself unavailable for the West Indies ODIs to focus on playing for Galle Marvels in the Lanka T10 League, scheduled from December 12 to 22.

A member of the selection panel told Cricbuzz that Shakib is not available for the series. Another BCB official suggested that Shakib might not be in the right frame of mind to represent the national team.

BCB officials are also awaiting medical reports on Najmul Hossain and Towhid Hridoy, who are recovering from groin injuries. The selection panel is hopeful that Najmul will be available from the third ODI if his recovery continues at its current pace.

Bangladesh will play the second Test against West Indies starting on November 30, followed by three ODIs in St. Kitts on December 8, 10, and 12, and three T20Is in St. Vincent on December 15, 17, and 19.

Shakib had hoped to play his final Test on home soil, but security concerns thwarted those plans. He has expressed his desire to continue playing ODI cricket until the Champions Trophy but did not participate in the recent ODI series against Afghanistan and is now not part of the series against West Indies.
