Bangladesh Secures Historic Win in West Indies

Bangladesh ended the year on a high note, winning their first Test in the West Indies in 15 years and leveling the two-match series. Their aggressive batting and collective bowling efforts led them to a 101-run victory, marking their third Test win abroad in 2024.

Taijul Islam's 5-50 helped bundle out the hosts for 185, while Nahid Rana's five-wicket haul in the first innings gave Bangladesh a slim lead. Shadman Islam, Mehidy Hasan, and Jaker Ali's counterattacking approach secured a 250-plus score in the second innings, ensuring a comfortable win.

Mehidy Hasan, leading the side in the absence of Najmul Hossain, emphasized the importance of a positive mindset. He praised Shahadat Hossain's performance when he batted at three due to Mominul Haque's illness.

Taijul Islam, who claimed three wickets in the first two sessions, was instrumental in removing key West Indies batters in the third session. He expressed satisfaction with his performance and praised the team's overall effort.

Taskin Ahmed, considered the pace bowling leader, shared the man of the series award with Jayden Seales after picking up 11 wickets in two Tests. Taskin mentioned the relief of getting out of the tough times since their historic Test series win over Pakistan and his determination to achieve more in Test cricket.
