Ben Sawyer signs two-year extension as NZ Women's coach

Ben Sawyer has signed a two-year extension as New Zealand Women's head coach. The new deal will see Sawyer being in charge of the side until December 2026.

Sawyer was first appointed in June 2022 and has led the team to win the T20 World Cup in October this year, their first title. He will have the opportunity to retain the title in 2026 when the tournament is held in England and will also lead the team in the ODI World Cup in India next year.

NZC Head of Women's High Performance Liz Green expressed her delight over Sawyer's extension, stating that he has instilled belief and trust in the group. She mentioned that many young players who made their international debut under Sawyer's leadership have started to thrive, as seen in the recent T20 World Cup.

New Zealand's next assignment is at home against Australia this month, with three ODIs scheduled for the 19th, 21st, and 23rd.
