Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head receive demerit points for heated exchange

  • Both players fined and given demerit points by ICC
  • Incident occurred after Siraj dismissed Head in Adelaide Test

Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head have been fined and given demerit points by the International Cricket Council (ICC) following their heated exchange during the Adelaide Test. Siraj was fined 20% of his match fee and given a demerit point, while Head received a demerit point as well.

The incident occurred when Siraj dismissed Head and approached him, pointing towards the direction of Australia's dressing room. Head stated that he had simply said "well bowled" and was surprised and disappointed by Siraj's reaction, while Siraj refuted Head's claim and asserted that Head had abused him.

Siraj was found to have breached article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, while Head breached Article 2.13. Both players admitted their offenses and accepted the proposed sanctions, with no need for a formal hearing.
