The Melbourne Stars were beaten by the Adelaide Strikers by 15 runs in the Big Bash 2024, suffering their third straight defeat in as many matches.

Adelaide Strikers' D'Arcy Short Shines

D'Arcy Short was the star of the show for the Strikers, scoring 60 runs off 33 balls, including two boundaries off Doug Warren. He brought up his 33-ball fifty with a single to long-on, his 23rd in the BBL.

Melbourne Stars' Batting Effort Falls Short

The Stars got off to a horrid start, with debutant Ben Duckett dismissed for a golden duck. However, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis showed some resistance, with Maxwell hitting two sixes to end Adam Milne's over. Despite this, the Stars lost four big wickets in their first 10 overs and were eventually bowled out for 150.
