Australia's lead has now extended to 240 runs, despite a brilliant effort from Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah picked up 4 wickets, including his 200th Test wicket, but Marnus Labuschagne's steady innings of 65* has kept Australia in the driver's seat.

In the morning session, Indian quicks had kept the pressure on Australia, with Bumrah starting the wickets' fall. Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep also contributed with crucial wickets.

Early in the second session, Bumrah and Siraj struck in quick succession, dismissing Steve Smith, Travis Head, and Mitchell Marsh. Bumrah's 200th wicket was a significant achievement, as he is the only bowler to have an average under 20 in the format.

Labuschagne was dropped twice, first by Yashasvi Jaiswal at third slip and then by Jaiswal again at silly point. Despite these reprieves, Labuschagne has been the glue holding Australia's innings together.

Brief Scores:

Australia 474 & 135/6 (Marnus Labuschagne 65*; Jasprit Bumrah 4-30, Mohammed Siraj 2-40)

India 369 (Nitish Reddy 114, Yashasvi Jaiswal 82, Washington Sundar 50; Scott Boland 3-57, Pat Cummins 3-89, Nathan Lyon 3-96)
