Jaiswal and Pant resist Australian bowlers

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his 14th Test fifty and batted out a session with Rishabh Pant to help India reach Tea at 112/3, trailing Australia by 228 runs. They shaved off 38 overs from the remaining Test time.

Jaiswal, who scored his second fifty of the match off 127 balls, and Pant resisted new-ball spells from Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. Jaiswal played and missed several outswingers from Starc but remained unbeaten at Lunch.

Cummins took a double-wicket over, dismissing Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, while Virat Kohli edged one to Usman Khawaja at slips. Australia anticipated further damage in the second session but met resistance from Jaiswal and Pant.
