Ryan Rickelton scored his maiden double century in Test cricket, helping South Africa extend their dominance over Pakistan. The hosts amassed 113 runs in the morning session despite losing one wicket, and are now 429/5 at lunch.

Rickelton and Kyle Verreyne stitched an unbeaten 106-run partnership, with Verreyne also scoring a half-century. The pitch was slightly on the browner side, but the batters were able to play their shots consistently.
