Shreyas Iyer has been officially announced as captain of Punjab Kings for the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League.

Background

Shreyas Iyer was released by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024 and was roped in by Punjab Kings for a price of INR 26.75 Crore, the second biggest buy in the auction. He has had an immensely successful 12 months in domestic cricket and the IPL, having won four titles across formats.
