Sydney derby abandoned due to rain, Sixers and Thunder share points
The Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder match at the SCG was called off due to rain, resulting in both teams sharing the points. The standings remain unchanged, with the Sixers in second place and set to face the Hobart Hurricanes in a Qualifier. The Thunder will play the Knockout against the fourth-placed team, which is yet to be determined.
- Three league games remain, and five teams are still in the running for the last playoff spot.
Early highlights:
- David Warner, the season's top scorer, started strong for the Thunder, scoring 22 off 14 balls.
- Jack Edwards took an early wicket for the Sixers, clean-bowling Sam Konstas with a perfect yorker.
Despite the ground staff's efforts to clear the field during the rain breaks, the match was officially abandoned due to unfavorable conditions.
