Hashan Tillakaratne Steps Down as Head Coach of Bangladesh Women

Hashan Tillakaratne has decided to step down as head coach of the Bangladesh Women's team following the recently concluded tour of West Indies.

Recent Performance

The team had a poor outing in the series, losing the T20Is 3-0 and the ODIs 2-1 in the Caribbean.

Tenure and Achievements

Tillakaratne was appointed as the head coach in October 2022 on a two-year contract, which was later extended. During his tenure, the team achieved some notable bilateral successes, including a historic series win against Pakistan at home.

Future Plans

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is considering appointing a local coach, with Sarowar Imran, the current Women's U-19 head coach, being the front runner.
