Six uncapped players named in South Africa's initial squad for tri-series

South Africa have named an initial 12-man lineup for the first match of the tri-series against New Zealand on February 10. The squad will be led by Temba Bavuma and consists of six uncapped players.

Matthew Breetzke, Meeka-eel Prince, Gideon Peters, Eathan Bosch, Senuran Muthusamy and Mihlali Mpongwana are the six uncapped players. Gerald Coetzee also makes a return to the side after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Keshav Maharaj and Heinrich Klaasen will miss the first game of the tri-series and link up with the squad ahead of their second clash against Pakistan in Karachi on February 9. The rest of the South African squad for the remainder of the tri-series will be announced on February 9.

Marco Jansen, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Kagiso Rabada, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and Rassie van der Dussen will depart for Pakistan on February 14.

South Africa are slated to play New Zealand on February 10 in Lahore and Pakistan on February 12 in Karachi. The final of the tri-series will be played on February 14.
