Delhi Capitals Look to Grab Elusive Title in WPL 2025
Captain Meg Lanning and the Delhi Capitals are eager to break their two-season jinx and claim the Women's Premier League title. Despite consistently delivering strong performances in the group stages, they have fallen short in the finals.
Key Strengths and Weaknesses
- Strengthened Squad: Delhi Capitals have made smart picks at the auctions, including Scotland's Sarah Bryce and Indian wicketkeeper-batter Nandini Kashyap, who could challenge Taniya Bhatia's place in the team.
- Settled XI: The team has a well-rounded squad, but may struggle to accommodate new players unless there are injury concerns.
- Schedule: Delhi Capitals have a relatively easy group stage schedule, with seven out of eight games scheduled in Bengaluru and Vadodara.
Players to Watch
- Shafali Verma: The opening batter has been in top form after being left out of the Indian side and will look to prove her worth in the tournament.
- Sarah Bryce: The Scottish wicketkeeper-batter could play a crucial role in the team's success.
