Pakistan Ready to Host Champions Trophy, Says PCB Chairman

Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has declared that Pakistan is fully equipped to host the Champions Trophy. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved the security plans and protocols for the eight-team global event.

Security Measures in Place

The security plan, presented to the ICC Board in October 2024, ensures that all necessary protocols are in place to provide a safe and seamless experience for teams, officials, and spectators alike. Pakistan is fully prepared to host the world's best cricketers, officials, foreign spectators, and commercial partners.

Role of Pakistan Super League (PSL)

The PSL has played a pivotal role in reintegrating international cricket into Pakistan. It provided a platform for foreign players to experience Pakistan's hospitality, security arrangements, and cricketing passion firsthand.

Government Support

The government machinery has been fully at work, with the federal government helping the country to be prepared for the tournament. The unwavering support from all relevant authorities has been invaluable and their commitment has played a crucial role.

Challenges Ahead

The PCB faces the challenge of coordinating with global stakeholders on operational aspects and ensuring alignment on security, since it is an ICC event. A bilateral series would be the PCB's responsibility.

Stadium Renovations

The stadiums in Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore have undergone significant renovations, ensuring that they meet the highest global standards for players, officials, and fans alike. The dedication and expertise of the workforce have been instrumental in transforming the stadiums into world-class venues.
