RCB go two in two with demolition job over Capitals

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) crushed Delhi Capitals (DC) by 8 wickets with 3.4 overs to spare, thanks to an all-round bowling performance and a blistering 81 from captain Smriti Mandhana.

DC's batting struggles

DC's innings was marked by a terrible start, with Shafali Verma dismissed for a duck. Jemimah Rodrigues and Meg Lanning managed to settle, but their partnership was broken by Georgia Wareham's stumping. Lanning was then dismissed by Kim Garth, and the Capitals' innings never recovered. RCB's bowlers applied pressure, and DC's batters struggled to score boundaries, eventually being bowled out for 141.

RCB's dominant chase

Mandhana led the chase with a blistering 81, her highest WPL score, and was well-supported by Danielle Wyatt-Hodge (42) in a 107-run partnership. The duo took advantage of DC's errant bowling, scoring boundaries at will. Wyatt-Hodge was dropped, but made amends by dismissing Mandhana, who was caught at fine-leg. Richa Ghosh finished the game with a four and a six, as RCB reached 146/2 in 16.2 overs.

Brief Scores:

Delhi Capitals 141 in 19.3 overs (Jemimah Rodrigues 34, Sarah Bryce 23; Renuka Singh Thakur 3-23, Georgia Wareham 3-25)
Royal Challengers Bengaluru 146/2 in 16.2 overs (Smriti Mandhana 81, Danielle Wyatt-Hodge 42; Shikkha Pandey 1-27)
