MI clip RCB's wings in last-over thriller

The 2025 edition of Women's Premier League saw a thrilling match between MI and RCB, where Harmanpreet Kaur, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Amanjot Kaur combined to chase down RCB's total of 167/7.

Smriti Mandhana started strongly for RCB, hitting two fours off Shabnim Ismail in the opening over. However, she was soon dismissed by Ismail, and RCB struggled to build partnerships. Ellyse Perry, who scored 81, and Richa Ghosh, who scored 28, added 50 runs in 38 deliveries to help RCB reach 167/7.

In response, MI lost Kim Garth early, but Nat Sciver-Brunt and Hayley Matthews built a strong partnership. Sciver-Brunt scored 42 off 21 balls, while Matthews hit two boundaries. However, Sciver-Brunt was bowled by a wily off-cutter from Garth, and MI were reduced to 66/2.

Harmanpreet Kaur and Amanjot Kaur then built a partnership, with Harmanpreet scoring her sixth WPL half-century. Amanjot finished the match with a six off Kanika Ahuja, and MI reached 170/6 in 19.5 overs, winning by four wickets.

Brief Scores:

  • Royal Challengers Bengaluru 167/7 in 20 overs
  • Mumbai Indians 170/6 in 19.5 overs
