England's bowling all-rounder Brydon Carse has been ruled out of the Champions Trophy 2025 due to a toe injury. He was replaced by legspinner Rehan Ahmed.

Carse played in the defeat to Australia, scoring eight runs and finishing with figures of 1 for 69 in 7 overs. Previously, he featured in four of the five T20Is and the first ODI against India, but was replaced by Jamie Overton in the second ODI.

Rehan, who has played in six 50-overs fixtures for England, comes in as the replacement for Carse. He will strengthen England's spin department, which is led by Adil Rashid and also includes Joe Root and Liam Livingstone.

Carse is expected to return to the XI in England's next game at the Champions Trophy, a must-win clash against Afghanistan on February 26 (Wednesday).
