ICC Clears Matthew Kuhnemann's Bowling Action

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has cleared Australian spinner Matthew Kuhnemann's bowling action after it was reported for an illegal action during the second Test against Sri Lanka earlier this month.

Background

Kuhnemann, a 28-year-old left-arm spinner, was reported for a suspect action for the first time in his professional career. He underwent an independent bowling assessment at the National Cricket Centre in Queensland.

Assessment Results

The results revealed that the elbow extension for all his deliveries were within 15 degrees, above which an action is deemed illegal. This clears the way for Kuhnemann to continue bowling in international cricket.

Career Highlights

Kuhnemann has played five Tests and four ODIs so far. He made his Test debut in India in 2023 and received a recall to beef up Australia's spin options for another subcontinental tour. He played a significant role in the series win by picking up 16 wickets.
