Kevin Pietersen Joins Delhi Capitals as Mentor

Kevin Pietersen has been appointed as mentor by the Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2025. The former England captain will join a new-look coaching staff, which includes Hemang Badani (Head Coach), Venugopal Rao (Director of Cricket), Matthew Mott (Assistant Coach), and Munaf Patel (Bowling Coach).

Pietersen, who captained the Delhi franchise (then called Daredevils) in 2014, will take on his first coaching role in the IPL since his retirement in 2016. He has a good relationship with the GMR group, which owns the Capitals, and helped broker a deal for the group to acquire Hampshire County in October 2024.

The Delhi Capitals will begin their quest for a maiden IPL title against the Lucknow Super Giants, led by former skipper Rishabh Pant, on March 24.
