Buttler on Captaincy

Jos Buttler admitted he had to reevaluate his options going forward after England's defeat to Afghanistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He stated that the results weren't where they needed to be and he personally needed to consider all possibilities.

Buttler emphasized that he wouldn't make any emotional decisions and would take time to work out what was right for him. He also acknowledged that the team needed to get back to competing for winning tournaments.

Buttler's personal form has been a concern, with an average of 30.57 in ODI innings and 30.11 in T20I innings since the 2023 World Cup. He attributed his recent struggles to missing early balls and not converting positions into innings he's played in the past.

When discussing his captaincy, Buttler said it had its moments, but results were tough and weighed heavily on him. He enjoys leading and being a leader in the team, but the team's lack of winning has brought difficult moments.
