Tamim Iqbal on Dual Role in DPL

Tamim Iqbal, former Bangladesh opener, has addressed concerns about his role as a team executive in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) while leading Mohammedan Sporting Club (MSC) in the same tournament.

Tamim believes that captaining one team while sponsoring another does not constitute a conflict of interest. He clarified that he does not own Gulshan Cricket Club, but has brought in sponsors for them. Tamim emphasized that he sees nothing wrong with playing a dual role in the league, and that he is not the owner of the team.

Tamim also stepped in to help Litton Kumar Das, who was left without a team after going unpicked in the BDPL player transfers. He convinced his club officials to sign Litton, seeing an opportunity to bring him into a squad filled with young cricketers. Tamim believes that players like Litton and Mustafizur are among the best in the country and should play in the Premier League.

Mustafizur Rahman was also left unsold alongside Litton, as teams were unwilling to match their expected fees. Tamim hopes that someone steps up for Mustafizur, and that he will bring immense value to a young team like Gulshan.
