Australia Post 264 to Leave Semifinal Evenly Poised

Australia won the toss and finished with a competitive total of 264 in the first semifinal of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, thanks to fifties from Steven Smith and Alex Carey.

The Australian batting line-up struggled against India's four frontline spinners, but Smith and Carey's partnership kept them in the game. Smith scored 73 off 66 balls, while Carey's 61 off 48 balls was crucial in the latter stages of the innings.

India's bowlers, led by Mohammed Shami's 3-48, kept the Australian batsmen in check, but Carey's aggressive batting towards the end of the innings ensured Australia reached a respectable total.

Brief Scores:

Australia 264 in 49.3 overs (Steven Smith 73, Alex Carey 61; Mohammed Shami 3-48) vs India
