Crushing Victory for Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians (MI) secured a thumping victory over UP Warriorz, moving them to second spot in the standings. The win was largely due to the impressive performances of Amelia Kerr and Hayley Matthews.

Amelia Kerr's Five-Wicket Haul

Amelia Kerr picked up five wickets, restricting UP Warriorz to 150/9 in 20 overs. Her double-wicket over in the 15th over proved to be the turning point in the game, dismissing Vrinda Dinesh and Chinelle Henry in the space of three balls.

Hayley Matthews' Fiery Fifty

Hayley Matthews played a crucial role in MI's victory, scoring a 48-ball 68 (8x4s, 2x6s). She cut and pulled with aplomb against Kranti Goud, Henry, and Sophie Ecclestone in the PowerPlay. Matthews also took 2-25 with the ball, dismissing Shweta Sehrawat and Kiran Navgire.

Nat Sciver-Brunt's Incredible Form

Nat Sciver-Brunt continued her incredible form this season, taking her tally past 300. She and Matthews strung together a 92-run partnership, putting the game beyond UPW's grasp. Sciver-Brunt also dismissed Georgia Voll with a slower one, triggering a turnaround for MI.

Georgia Voll's Quick-Fire Fifty

Georgia Voll scored a quick-fire half-century, adding a 74-run stand for the first wicket with Grace Harris. However, Voll fell to Sciver-Brunt, leaving UP Warriorz susceptible to a second-half collapse.

Brief Scores

UP Warriorz 150/9 in 20 overs (Georgia Voll 55, Grace Harris 28; Amelia Kerr 5-38, Hayley Matthews 2-25)
lost to MI 153/4 in 18.3 overs (Hayley Matthews 68, Nat Sciver-Brunt 37; Grace Harris 2-11) by 6 wickets
