Ottis Gibson Joins KKR as Assistant Coach

Former West Indies fast bowler Ottis Gibson has been appointed as the Assistant Coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2025. The 55-year-old joins a coaching team led by Chandrakant Pandit, alongside Dwayne Bravo (mentor), Bharat Arun (bowling coach), and Carl Crowe (spin bowling coach).

Gibson, with an impressive coaching resume, previously served as England's bowling coach, head coach of the West Indies (2010-14), and South Africa (2017-19). He also guided the West Indies to their first T20 World Cup title in 2012 and has worked with Bangladesh, Yorkshire, and various T20 teams.

KKR, the defending champions, have a revamped backroom staff following Gautam Gambhir's departure to join the senior India men's team. The team will be led by new captain Ajinkya Rahane, with Venkatesh Iyer as deputy, and will kick off their title defense against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 22.
